Swimming & Water Safety Lessons for Littles Ones
Ages 0 months to 3 years.

Why are infant swimming and water safety lessons so important?
We strive to prevent the panic and fear that often accompanies emergencies by teaching children and parents how to prevent accidents. Participating in formal swimming lessons has been shown to reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent among children aged 1 to 4 years, according to research published in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine in 2009. At our facility, we prioritize teaching children to swim as a crucial skill for drowning prevention. As parents, it's important to take proactive steps to keep children safe in and around water. Here is a link to a study conducted after the COVID-19 pandemic.

How long are the sessions?
We offer one-on-one private lessons of 10 minutes to all new clients unless otherwise approved by the coach. Beginner-level lessons are offered for 10 minutes, while intermediate lessons are available for 15 minutes, and advanced lessons for 20 minutes. Fifteen (15) and 20-minute lessons are only available on a coach evaluated, case-by-case basis. For younger babies and beginners who may need shorter classes, we also offer lessons of shorter duration to help them adjust to being in the water.

How much are the lessons?
We offer private swim lessons for babies in 10-minute, 15-minute, and 20-minute durations, depending on the baby's needs and assessment at the beginning of their enrollment.
The 10-minute lessons cost $97 per month. Newly enrolled babies start at 10 minutes and will be assessed over time to determine if longer lesson times would be beneficial for the learning experience.

The 15-minute lessons cost $145.50 per month. These lessons are only offered to families whose babies are coach-assessed as requiring a longer time in the water.

The 20-minute lessons cost $194 per month. Again, these lessons are only offered after in-water assessments completed by the coach deem the child needs longer water lesson time.

Our prices are competitive while maintaining high-quality instruction by experienced coaches. Our baby program offers flexibility and personalized attention to support the needs and development of each baby.

Isn't 1 week old too soon for swimming lessons?
Many parents wonder if it's safe to begin swim lessons for babies only 1 week old. The answer will vary depending on the baby's overall health, development, and readiness for aquatic exposure. At SWIM.LOVE.BABIES, we have experience teaching infants as young as 1 week old to swim. Babies at this age still have a natural diving reflex, allowing them to hold their breath and move their arms rhythmically when submerged in water. While it's important to consider the potential risks associated with introducing a newborn to the water, there are also many benefits to early exposure to swimming. Early swimming can positively impact a baby's physical and cognitive development and their confidence and comfort in the water as they grow older.

We are a specialized swim school dedicated to providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for infants and young children to learn the life-saving skill of swimming. Our expert coaches take into account a child's individual needs and development, ensuring that they are mentally and physically ready for their lessons. We believe early exposure to swimming can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for both parent and child, so long as safety is a top priority.
How many lessons does my child need?
At SWIM.LOVE.BABIES, we understand that teaching a child to swim is a personal journey with many nuances to consider. Our teaching approach is tailored to meet individual needs and is focused on instilling trust and comfort lovingly and compassionately. We believe that the journey towards becoming water "safe" involves teaching specific black-and-white skills that will save your child's life in an emergency, such as floating on both the back and belly and rolling from belly to back and vice versa.

Many factors can impact a child's journey towards becoming water safe, such as parents' relationship with water, separation anxiety, developmental milestones, and any water trauma that may exist. We teach skills when a child is mentally and physically ready, building on a solidified bond of trust between the coach, child, and parent. It can take years for children to achieve the swimming skills required to become water-safe, and progress depends on the child's initial skill level, mental and physical development, and the family's commitment to regular swim time.

We believe that your child needs as many lessons as it takes to achieve their swim goals while maintaining a loving and compassionate approach. With our focus on building trust and comfort in the water, we believe in using puddle jumpers and life jackets as TOOLS rather than staple pieces of swim attire when children are in the water for enjoyment. Our goal is to teach your child the necessary skills, instill a love of the water, and create a lifetime foundation of aquatic trust and learning.
