Our Promise

SWIM - To empower swimmers to save his/her own lives and the lives of others.

LOVE - To teach with passion and compassion.  To seek knowledge and feedback are core values of the baby program.

BABIES - To respect the boundaries of the babies and ensure their personal swim journey remains on track, despite any conflicting goals or developmental milestones of parents or guardians.

  • Say "hello" to the front desk staff (first desk located in entrance/reception lobby).

  • One "dry" bathroom is located in the entrance/reception lobby (to be used only if parents/children are not dripping wet: concrete and water are a dangerous mix).

The Journey

We believe that learning to swim is a journey that should not be rushed. Our coaches focus on developing a positive relationship with your child and listening to their individual needs.

We understand that each child learns at their own pace, so we nurture your little ones as they progress through their swim skills, both developmentally, mentally, and physically.

Our goal is to help your child feel comfortable and confident in the water, and we are excited to guide them on their journey to becoming strong and safe swimmers.

Swim Diapers

  • To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please note that all children still requiring potty training must wear our custom, REUSABLE swim diapers (or an approved alternative swim diaper, links are below) for every lesson.

  • Disposable swim diapers don't have enough absorption/containment abilities for the activity level of our classes, AND cannot be worn for any lesson.

  • Our REUSABLE swim diapers are custom ordered with the lowest fail rate of any swim diaper we have used, but the diaper must be worn correctly. Our swim diaper, or the approved alternative, should be the only garment worn between the child's body and the water.

  • The diaper features three cinches. Each cinch should be gently tightened before the lesson. Pull the elastic band until it stops naturally, and then slide the cinch down towards the body. The "Turtle" logo on the diaper should be pointing upwards towards the child's head when correctly fitted.

  • Our custom REUSABLE Swim Diapers are available at the Front Desk for $15.

  • Must fit snugly around legs and waist

  • The only ALTERNATIVE reusable swim diaper approved for use is Green Sprouts i-Play:

  • Approved Swim Diapers:

  • Please note that the swim diapers are not designed to hold urine. Consequently, do not dress your child in the swim diaper before arriving at our facility. However, you can use a regular, disposable diaper over the swim diaper while awaiting the lesson.

  • If a child defecates in the pool and is not wearing our custom ordered or our approved, non-disposable swim diaper, the family will be responsible for the cost associated with the cleaning the pool or the costs incurred of physically closing the pool to all swimming lessons for a 24-hour period. It is absolutely essential that all caregivers who accompany a child to lessons are made aware that only approved, non-disposable, swim diapers can be worn.

  • We have loaners available at the desk if you forget your swim diaper. Please note that availability may be limited. There may be a rental/deposit fee associated with the use of loaners. Please use, wash, and return the swim diaper to the facility.

Changing Rooms

  • Changing Rooms 1 and 2, identified by the brown doors, are designed for use by babies and younger children.  They are located past the second "dry" bathroom, on the right.

  • Inside, you'll find dedicated baby changing tables and a timed heater to keep your little ones comfortable during the changing process.

Cubbies

  • The cubbies for your belongings are located in front of the changing rooms.

  • Please remove your shoes, but if you prefer to keep them on, you'll need to wear shoe covers while on the pool deck to prevent waterborne illnesses.

  • Only bare feet or shoe covers are allowed on the deck, please.

  • You'll only need towels on the pool deck – leave all other belongings in the cubbies.

Pool Area

  • Station 2 is highly identifiable by its red tags, and it features a handicapped chair, too many toys, and is exclusively used by Swim.Love.Babies.

  • For families that require extra seating, there are two (2) sets of 2 chairs identified with red duct tape available for use. However, please be mindful of upcoming class participants and leave enough space for them to occupy the area comfortably and safely while awaiting their lesson time.

  • Lastly, we have a basket of toys for your child(ren) labeled with orange tape, which reads "Not for water use. Dryland toys only." These toys exist solely for your child's entertainment while they're waiting for their lesson.

Waiting Area

  • Captain Pete will be opening the door closest to the entrance/reception lobby three minutes before your lesson time, allowing you into the pool area. PLEASE NOTE: The Pool Clock located on the wall adjacent to the door is used for timing the opening of the door by Captain Pete.

  • You can find him sitting in the chair on the edge of the tan pony wall closest to the "baby changing rooms."

  • Captain Pete will be opening the door closest to the reception area three minutes before your lesson time, allowing you into the pool area.

  • Additionally, he can help guide you if your baby has a bowel movement in the water.

  • The chairs in the waiting area are located in front of two glass windows that provide a view of Station 2. The chairs are situated just before the blue metal column against the tan wall, and these are the ones you will use while waiting for the lesson.

Lesson Time, Lets Get In:

  • It is important to make sure that the swim diaper is properly tightened before entering the pool area, as coaches cannot assist with this due to having soft fingernails from being in the water.

  • To ensure proper tightening, pull the elastic band gently until it stops naturally, and then slide the cinch down towards the body.

  • For safe entry into the pool, babies should go to the Red Turtle Sign marked with a number and a duct-taped Red Arrow located on the pool deck.

  • Before getting into the pool, remember to follow Safety Rule #1 and ask an adult for permission.

  • The baby should sit on the Red Arrow without touching the water to prevent any accidental falls. There is a real potential for the child to tip forward and fall into the water if not positioned appropriately on the pool deck.

  • The baby must "ask" PLEASE (Water Safety Rule #1) to enter into the water. If not talking yet, the coach will be seeking to see the "PLEASE" hand sign.

  • To help the baby enter the water safely, the coach will roll them onto their belly and slide them in slowly while keeping their hands on the wall. This method is the safest approach when the baby cannot touch the pool's bottom. Furthermore, this approach instills the habit of using the wall for support and to exit the water if the child finds themselves alone in the pool.

End of Lesson- Time to Get Out

  • After the lesson, and the child's exit from the water, the parent/guardian will be reminded to place the child onto the pool deck yoga mat. This activity is designed to assist in the swim diaper's containment of any surprise bowel movements that may have gone unnoticed during the lesson.

  • At the conclusion of swim lesson, it should be understood that there will be water contained in the reusable swim diaper. It is mandatory that the parent/guardian "peek" into the diaper to determine if any fecal matter exists before releasing the diaper's watery contents onto the deck's yoga mat.
